The "Fulton Flea" is a series of Outdoors Community Special Events located in the hub of Fort Greene, Brooklyn at the base of the BAM Arts District where Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue intersect. We are a project of the Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center. Our purpose is educational and social in nature. The “Fulton Flea” vision is simple -- take an empty lot and turn it into an active gathering space where people can meet and engage in the sharing of information, entertainment, goods and services. The “Fulton Flea” offers an opportunity to promote the non-profit mission of the Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center while supporting economic opportunities for home-based artisan entrepreneurs and the existing merchants of our community. In these changing economic times, we believe that bringing diverse community segments together and re-creating a "Community Commons" on selected Sundays is an appropriate strategy to reach our mission.
